The Greatest of All Time has died (G.O.A.T.)

Written by on June 4, 2016

Legendary Boxer Muhammad Ali has died at age 74 (1942-2016)

I remember when he threw his Olympic gold medal in the Ohio river when coming back to the segregated South.

I remember his transformation from his slave name to Muhammad Ali.  He defined himself and made others accept him on his terms.

I remember him giving up the best years of his athletic career by standing up to the federal government to not fight a war he did not believe in nor would his religion permit.

I remember his verbal encounters with Howard Cosell.

I remember his rhymes and style.

I remember all the posters I had in my room of him.

I remember meeting him at the  radio station.

I remember his unbelievable courage.

I remember when I first heard of his struggles with Parkinson.

I will hold him in my heart as I do my own father, forever.

Muhammad Ali quote

Muhammad AliAA Ali and me

Ali and my dad
