The Biggest Green Flags on a Dating Profile

The top dating profile attributes that make a person more likely to choose to match with a person, according to Forbes Health survey results, are as follows:

  • Having a good sense of humor (82%)
  • Having hobbies, interests or pastimes (80%)
  • Portraying a good sense of style (76%)
  • Showing an interest in travel (71%)
  • Featuring a pet in a photo (65%)
  • Featuring family members in a photo (56%)
  • Adding voice notes to a bio (49%)
  • Sharing political views (43%)

Many of the top green flags are shared equally among men and women, however, there are a few characteristics that are more attractive to women specifically. Women find photos with a pet (67% versus 61% of men) and family (58% versus 52% of men) to be stronger indications of a potential match. Additionally, women were more likely to prefer a partner who is interested in traveling (73% compared to 69% of men).

Meanwhile, men were more likely to match with someone who shared their political views on their profile (49% versus 39% of women). What’s more, 53% of men find voice notes featured in a potential match’s bio to be a better indicator of a match than women (46%).
