Written by on April 10, 2024

Jaedyn Shaw, a 19-year-old soccer prodigy, has made history in the US Women’s National Team (USWNT) by scoring in each of her first five starts, a record in the team’s history. Shaw, who idolized and emulated Mallory Swanson (née Pugh) in her youth, shared the field with her role model during the USWNT’s victory against Japan in the SheBelieves Cup in Atlanta, scoring the first goal and contributing to the team’s advance to the final. With seven goals in her first 11 international appearances, Shaw’s exceptional performance has been pivotal for the USWNT. Her technical skills, creativity, and smart play have been highlighted by teammates and she credits her development to her time with the San Diego Wave FC in the National Women’s Soccer League. Shaw’s impact extends beyond her scoring abilities, contributing significantly to the team’s dynamics and proving her potential as a key player for future competitions, including the upcoming 2024 Olympics.
