Christopher’s mother, Evelyn, who was in town for the birth of her grandchild, recounted the devastating moment she was informed of her son’s death by detectives. The tragedy unfolded when Christopher went to a store and was confronted by 42-year-old Herbert Montgomery, who started an altercation that led to the stabbing.

Montgomery was arraigned Sunday morning, charged with second-degree murder, and is being held without bail. Sarah Lee McFadden, 42, allegedly in a relationship with Montgomery, faces felony charges of tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution but was released on her own recognizance.

Evelyn attended the arraignment, expressing her anger and pain. Friends of Jennifer have set up a GoFundMe to support her during this difficult time.
