St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Rochester: Parking, Street Closures And More

The 47th annual Tops Rochester St. Patrick’s Day Parade is set to enliven downtown Rochester on Saturday, March 16, 2024, starting at 12:30 p.m. The parade, featuring over 100 entries including 3,000 marchers, nine bands, and eight Irish dance schools, will commence at East Avenue and Alexander Street, proceeding to the Liberty Pole and then west on Main Street, concluding at Fitzhugh Street. In preparation, several streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from around noon until approximately 3:30 p.m. to accommodate the parade. This year’s Grand Marshals are former WROC-TV news anchors Maureen McGuire and John Kucko, with 98-year-old WWII veteran Mason Fitch serving as the Honorary Marshal. Alongside the parade, the alcohol-free Celtic Family Faire will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn, offering a variety of family-friendly activities. Free parking is available at multiple locations downtown, with certain garages offering free parking until 4 p.m. Additionally, the Runnin’ of the Green race will impact traffic with closures along its course in the morning.
