Over the weekend, the Skate to End Hate charity festival raising funds to help prevent suicide was held. The charity festival included rock climbing at Roc Ventures and skateboarding at Breaking Free Indoor Skate Park. All the money raised is going to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Kyle Matthews, co-founder of Skate to End Hate, stated: “Just make sure everyone feels safe and has someone to talk to and they can get the resources they need to continue to be able to live a very happy and successful life, no matter how depressed or down they might feel, and they have a safe haven.”

Nate Riezinger, another co-founder of Skate to End Hate, chimed in to say: “We honestly just wanted to come up with a safe space in the community to come and support mental health, come and support suicide prevention through funds and also just through morale.”
