Sheila E. revealed that Prince almost recorded a solo version of Michael Jackson’s hit song “Bad,” which was never released. Speaking on “The Jason Show,” Sheila E. shared that despite being seen as rivals, Prince and Michael Jackson were actually friends and spent time together. She recounted a moment at Paisley Park when Prince considered collaborating with Jackson on “Bad.”

Prince initially reacted humorously to the song’s lyrics, particularly the line “Your butt is mine,” and then decided to record his own version at his Minnesota studio. Sheila E. described Prince’s rendition as “funky” and “amazing,” and the team eagerly anticipated Jackson’s reaction. However, after completing the recording, Prince unexpectedly erased the entire track in front of Sheila E., a practice she noted was not uncommon for him. She hinted at many other re-recordings by Prince that were similarly lost.
