Senator Schumer Pushes for Federal Funding to Provide Rochester with More Trees
Written by Site Hub on May 9, 2023
Yesterday, Senator Chuck Schumer visited the Upper Falls neighborhood to push the federal government to send funding to Rochester to plant 6,000 new trees in parts of the city suffering from the declining tree canopy. Senator Schumer stated: “Too many neighborhoods are stuck in what you’d call concrete deserts without green space. The beauty of green space is very important, but it’s also a health issue. When you don’t have trees, you have lower air quality, lower property values, many other inequities.”
