According to early reports, the $1.9 Trillion COVID-19 relief bill passed in the Senate 50-49 this weekend after over 27 hours of debate.
Next week, there ’s a final vote scheduled for the Democratic majority House to adopt the Senate Version of the bill before it can be signed into law by the President.
The bill includes the $1400 stimulus checks – check back for updates on when these will be arriving.
The Senate’s approval was completely Democratic. Not a single Republican official signed the bill, which is a strong indicator that big issues like this will have more opposition through Biden’s Presidency, but he’s still optimistic. In a statement regarding the issue, he said:
“Look, the American people strongly support what we’re doing,” Biden said, downplaying the lack of bipartisanship. “That’s the key here.”
