Sen. Chuck Schumer Introduces A Proposal For All NYS Essential Workers

Senator Chuck Schumer is pushing a new initiative called the “Heroes Fund.” The program is a push for higher pay for all frontline employees working during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Senator Schumer is pushing for the proposal to get all essential workers in New York State including healthcare & grocery store employees to get a pay increase up to $25,000.
Under this proposal workers who earn less than $200,000 annually would cap at $25,000 more and workers Making 200,000 or more annually will receive an additional $5,000.
The proposal also brings in incentives for new 1st responders and would offer a one time $15,000 sign up bonus.
Hopefully this proposal goes through for all New York essential workers.
