All 23 school districts in Monroe County will be using a new safety technology to stop cars from speeding past the school bus when the stop arm is out.
The County is working with the national bus safety company called Bus Patrol.
The company uses AI technology that detects when vehicles speeds past the school bus’s stop arm and then records the license plates.
All buses in the area whether it’s owned by a district or private company will have the technology installed free of charge through a program called “violator-funded” that’s used by Bus Patrol.
