Rural Vaccination Station In Georgia Gets Suspended For Vaccinating School District Staff Members

A vaccination station in rural Georgia was suspended the other day because they vaccinated people who weren’t part of the current phase.
On Tuesday, the Georgia Department Of Public Health discovered that the Medical Center of Elberton vaccinated several Elbert County School District Staff Members who didn’t qualify for the Phase 1A distribution. According to a release from the Department, an investigation was started and confirmed the story.
Elberton County School District Superintendent Jon Jarvis gave a statement, saying:
“It’s hard to wear a mask when you’re trying to teach students sounds. The vaccination for teachers, bus drivers, school nutrition workers … they should be considered in the first group in my opinion.”
The Georgia Department of Public Health also gave a statement in defense of their investigation:
“It is critical that DPH maintains the highest standards for vaccine accountability to ensure all federal and state requirements are adhered to by all parties, and vaccine is administered efficiently and equitably.”
