RPO Raised Tens of Thousands for Ukraine

Written by on March 14, 2022

Over the week, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra took the stage at the Eastman Theatre for a special benefit concert dedicated to the people of Ukraine. While the show was planned last minute, the RPO had raised about $50,000 for local Ukrainian nonprofit Roc Maidan.

Curt Long, president and CEO of RPO, stated: “At the RPO, part of our mission is to play the great canon of symphonic western music, but a part of our mission is to play music that speaks to and for the community and this is a great opportunity to bring people together and play some music which is really going to resonate in the face of this horrific crisis and how it’s impacted the people of Ukraine.”
