A teacher at Roth Junior High School, Scott Stradley, 52, of Pittsford, has been arrested and charged with predatory sexual assault against a child, a class A felony. According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Stradley, who is listed as a faculty member on the school’s website, was arrested off-campus on December 13, 2024. Authorities confirmed that the victim is a child Stradley knew personally and that there is no evidence suggesting any involvement of Rush-Henrietta students in the crime.
Stradley was arraigned and held without bail, though bail was later set at $50,000 cash. His case will go to a grand jury, and no court date has been scheduled yet.
The Rush-Henrietta Central School District placed Stradley on administrative leave and issued a statement emphasizing their cooperation with law enforcement and their commitment to supporting students’ social-emotional needs during this difficult time. Superintendent Dr. Barbara Mullen encouraged families to use provided resources to help teens process emotions and uncertainty. The district remains unable to comment further due to state laws regarding personnel matters.
