Rochester residents needed for Covid Vaccine Trial

Written by on May 7, 2020

Gov. Cuomo has repeatedly mentioned the key to reopening New York is tracing and testing.
Bill Gates said “Normalcy only returns when we’ve largely vaccinated the entire global population.”
Soon Rochester, NY will be among four U.S. cities that have both the tests and vaccines.

URMC was recently hired by Pfizer to test vaccines in our area. Rochester General is tasked with recruiting 90 Rochester residents to participate in the first human trial of coronavirus vaccines.

Unlike traditional vaccines, the ones tested in Rochester will not contain fragments of the virus.
Instead, the shot includes molecules known as Messenger RNA.

The Democrat & Chronicle has an in-depth article on this topic.

The other cities chosen for this first round of human trial are Cincinnati, Baltimore and NYC.

It is Pfizer’s goal to have emergency approval of a vaccine by the end of 2020. This is unprecedented speed!

Attorney Al Parisi discussed his concerns about this humal trial Wednesday morning on the Wake Up Club.
