Rochester Police Released Photo of One of Alleged Suspects Involved in Maplewood Park Shooting

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department (RPD) is appealing to the public for help in locating a suspect involved in a July mass shooting at Maplewood Park. Authorities are searching for 20-year-old Niger Johnson, who is wanted on charges of reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon.
During a news conference on Wednesday, RPD Captain Frank Umbrino released a photo of Johnson, urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to come forward. While officials have stated that they do not believe any of Johnson’s fired bullets struck individuals during the incident, the police emphasize the seriousness of the charges.
