The Rochester Fire Department has been busy these past 12 hours!

Firefighters first responded to a burning garage on Grand Avenue just before midnight on October 16th. Although there was significant damage to the garage, the crew was able to prevent the fire from spreading to the home.

Next, they ended up at a vacant house on Lincoln Street near Clifford Avenue. Here, the fire took over the entire first floor, but the crew stopped the fire from spreading to the second floor and attic. Due to the suspicious nature of this blaze, the Rochester Arson Task Force is investigating this fire.

Both of these fires happened within 15 minutes of each other.

Finally, firefighters responded to a fire at 244 Rutgers Street at around 9:30 this morning. The crew was able to rescue one person from the attic who was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

As it stands now, Rutgers Street is closed between Monroe Avenue and Harvard Street.

Luckily, there have been no reports of any deaths or serious injuries from any of the fires at this point.
