Rochester Emergency Vet Hospital Now Open

(WROC) –
Rochester Emergency Veterinary Services (REVS) is set to open its doors and provide much-needed critical care for pets in the Rochester community. Located within the Animal Hospital of Rochester on University Avenue, REVS aims to fill the gap left by the closure of VSES in Brighton last November. Dr. Brenda Buck, one of the lead veterinarians, highlighted the clinic’s staffing model, which includes a high ratio of paraprofessionals to doctors. REVS will operate overnight on weekdays from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. and offer continuous 24-hour care throughout the weekends. Dr. Buck has called for patience from the community, noting the initial limitations in capacity and staffing compared to the previous facility. With plans for expansion and growth, REVS seeks to eventually provide around-the-clock care with multiple doctors. The clinic, a nonprofit, welcomes donations and will mark its opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this Friday, following the commencement of its first overnight shift on Thursday.
