Rochester City Council Approved Mayor Evan’s $675 Million City Budget

The Rochester City Council approved the Mayor’s $675 million 2023-24 City Budget by a 5-4 vote.  Councilmembers Gruber, Harris, Lightfoot, Patterson and President Meléndez voted in favor of the budget, and Councilmembers Martin, Peo, Smith and Vice President Lupien voted against the budget. Prior to the budget passage, Council voted to add four new Resolutions of Budgetary Intent, including funds for improving services at Neighborhood Service Centers. Plus, a request that the Rochester Police Department undergo a workflow study and funds for affordable housing projects and social-emotional support programs.
