Rochester Area Foodlink Stores Raise Over $700K In Donations This Year

Written by on December 23, 2020

Foodlink’s Check out Hunger program raised over $700,000 from donations by Wegman’s shoppers this year.

It makes donating easy by giving shoppers the option to add a extra money to their grocery purchase.

The total donation amount was $710,212.34 and came in from 21 Rochester-area stores.

The fundraising campaign has earned more than $43 million since it began 27 years ago and allows Wegmans customers to donate $2, $4 or $5 — or round up their grocery bill — while they are in the checkout line.

This year’s campaign ran from October 18 through November 28.
