Rising COVID-19 Cases At U of R Threaten Another ‘Pause” In The Spring Semester

Officials from the University of Rochester sent out a mass email on Tuesday that let everyone know they might have to pause the spring semester if COVID-19 cases continue to grow.
Over the past couple of weeks, the number of positive cases has hit the same number as it was from the first two months of the fall semester.
The email continued, saying that if 100 or more cases emerge among students, faculty and staff within a two week time period, the pause would go into effect on River Campus and/or the Eastman School Of Music.
Sophomore Daniel Lee gave a statement, saying:
“We’re doing a lot worse than last semester so it’s kind of concerning in terms of how fast the COVID cases are going up and we might have a repeat of two semesters ago.”
