RCSD Surveys About Distance Learning & In Person Education Are Due Today
Written by Site Hub on December 11, 2020
Today is the last day in the extension that RCSD gave for a parent survey that asks about returning to in person learning in 2021.
The district needs all the parents to respond by today, December 11. On Wednesday, 85% of elementary students were accounted for but only 69% of middle and high school students had answered.
Right now, families have two choices: fully remote learning, or a hybrid system, with two days in class and the rest on a distance platform. If there is no response students will stay with remote learning through the end of the 2020-2021 school year.
Parental consent for COVID testing is also addressed in the survey. Since RCSD schools are within an orange zone as of Thursday, 20 percent of in-person students and staff will need to be tested for COVID-19 each month once in-person instruction begins again.
Anyone who has not yet heard from their school should contact the school and update their contact information for phone numbers and emails.
