Queen Elizabeth II Dies at 96

After reigning for seven decades on the throne of the United Kingdom, and serving the longest reign than any other British monarch, Queen Elizabeth died at age 96. According to the Royal Family, the queen died “died peacefully” on Thursday afternoon at Balmoral Castle, her estate in the Scottish Highlands. Her son Charles, 73, is now king and will be known as King Charles III.
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
