Prince’s estate releasing two archived albums on vinyl

Written by on February 29, 2020

Prince fans eagerly await the April 17 release of two of his archived albums, which will drop on vinyl for the first time. “The Rainbow Children” (originally released in 2001 as an LP) and “One Nite Alone” (originally released in 2002 as a studio album) will be re-released by Legacy Recordings.

On the same April 17 drop date, fans will be able to revel in the re-release of two additional Prince albums – the four-disc “One Nite Alone” and the double-LP “One Nite Alone…the Aftershow: It Ain’t Over!”. All of the reissued albums will be pressed on either clear or purple vinyl as a nod to The Purple One.

Prince’s own NPG Records label originally released these four albums, which were the first recordings issued under the artist’s name of “Prince” after the release of previous albums under his “Love Symbol” moniker.

Fans who can’t get enough of Prince’s music in these latest re-releases have another option on CD/DVD. Prince’s estate has collaborated with Legacy Recordings to release the compilation “Up All Nite With Prince: the One Nite Alone Collection,” which includes “One Nite Alone…Live!” and “One Nite Alone…the Aftershow; It Ain’t Over!” with his out-of-print DVD concert film “Prince Live at the Aladdin Las Vegas,” recorded on December 15, 2002.
