President Trump Signed Executive Order Against Social Media But Continues To Tweet

Written by on May 29, 2020

President Trump signed an executive order Thursday that will make it easier for big tech companies to be held liable for what users post. The reason for the executive order is because Twitter fact checked two tweets from the President earlier this week.

Under the order Mr. Trump wants to push legislation that would reinterpret Section 230 which protects large tech companies from lawsuits.

Basically, anything he feels is interference in his presidency or if he can’t tweet misinformation he wants the ability to slap them with a lawsuit.

Friday after Mr. Trump tweeted “….These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!” Twitter placed a warning on his tweet.

I don’t know why all of the sudden Twitter is fact checking and putting warnings of the Mr. Trumps tweets but it’s interesting how he is reacting. There is a lot happening in America at this time the President could address. Instead he makes the decision to go to war with social media when he could simply stop using Twitter. But, he won’t!

We get it they corrected you, you didn’t think they ever would, your feelings were hurt, and now your upset Mr. President but can you please lead this country!

The fact that over 101,000 people have died from the coronavirus in the United States and you still haven’t addressed it is bothersome. The racial tension in this country is at an all time high because of the murders of black men and women by police and racist. When are you going to hold a briefing to address these recent senseless and heinous killings?

And now Mr. Trump has decided to terminate the partnership with the WHO blaming China. Also, breaking news Mr. Trump has accused China of espionage and more announcing a bunch of retaliatory measures against them.

What a Friday.
