Earlier this month, Morgan’s Cereal Bar hosted their grand opening at their location, 320 East avenue, in Rochester’s East End. With a line of customers out the door, it’s pretty clear Rochesterians LOVE that Morgan’s cereal!

The one thing on everyone’s mind however, relates to another local establishment named POP ROC. If you aren’t familiar with them, POP ROC carries comics, caffeine and, believe it or not, cereal. In fact, they’ve even named themselves “Rochester’s First Cereal Bar”! And guess where they’re located… yep, you guessed it! POP ROC and Morgan’s Cereal Bar are right across the street from each other.

With neighborhood talk of Morgan’s Cereal Bar opening across the street, the social media storm began in earnest. Some of the comments were encouraging, but many were just plain negative. It seemed as if everyone wanted the two cereal bars to go to war! Luckily for us, the owners had a different idea.

They have decided to team up and respond to the negative speculations by building a strong sense of safety and community within the neighborhood they share.

Owner of Morgan’s Cereal Bar, Cheria Anderson, had this to say, “We want to make sure that the community knows that we are not apart of any ‘war’ or any confrontation, that we are working together to bring a positive change to this community. We are trying to build a safe place, and a safe community, with limited-to-no negativity.”
