Perinton Apartment Complex Faces Legal Action From Tenants

Written by on September 8, 2022

After years of mistreatment, the Pines of Perinton, and its parent company, Winn Residential are facing legal action from the tenants. Over this past week, a summons with notice was filed on behalf of 13 current and former residents of the Pines, many of which were impacted by a fire that displaced 65 residents in January or victims of crimes that have taken place on the property. According to the summons, it alleges that Pines breached contract and did not maintain the apartments in a safe condition, “based upon defendant’s actual and/or constructive knowledge of longstanding, dangerous conditions, which they failed to remedy.”

A representative from Pines stated: “We deny the allegations in this lawsuit and we will respond to its claims through the court process. The health and safety of residents are our top priorities. Our team works hard to respond to and resolve maintenance issues and hazards every day.”
