NYS Unveils Finger Lakes License Plate

Written by on July 1, 2023

The New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has introduced a new license plate design for the Finger Lakes region. This design is part of a novel collection of plates, each symbolizing one of the state’s ten officially recognized regions.

The latest plate highlights a scenic view of a hillside, casting a gaze upon the western shoreline of Keuka Lake, a significant landmark within the Finger Lakes region. In addition to this, the state provides over 200 distinct custom license plates, illustrating various entities such as sports teams, charities, and others.

The custom plates are priced at $60, accompanied by an annual renewal fee of $31.25. If opting for a personalized custom plate, the cost stands at $91.25, with a yearly renewal charge of $62.50. These plate renewal fees come above and beyond the regular vehicle registration renewal costs.
