NYS Reports 1-Day Record of 90,000 COVID Cases

Over this past weekend, the New York State Department of Health reported another one-day record for COVID-19 cases. On Saturday, they reported 90,132 new cases, and currently, the state’s 7-day positivity rate is 22.15%. As of Saturday, 11,843 people are in the hospital with the virus- an increase of 295, 483 of those patients are in intensive care- 34 more than a day prior, and 154 more deaths from COVID-19 have been confirmed. In the Finger Lakes region, their 7-day positivity rate stands at 20.1% There are 622 hospitalizations and of those hospitalized, 406 (65%) were admitted due to COVID or COVID-related complications, while 216 (35%) were admitted for some other reason.
