NYS Lawmakers Introduce Bill to Ban Virginity Exams

If you’re familiar with popular culture, specifically in the realm of Hip Hop and/or reality TV, then you’ve probably already heard Tip “T.I.” Harris explain to the world how he goes to the gynecologist with his daughter every year to monitor her virginity. After stirring up controversial debate about the subject, the rapper later retracted his statements, claiming he was just joking.

Well, New York State lawmakers are definitely not joking and have introduced a new bill which would prevent doctors from performing virginity exams. If this new bill is approved, physicians who perform these exams could face criminal charges.
