As cases continue to rise, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-New York) is calling on the Biden administration to increase the domestic production and access to monkeypox vaccines. According to state leaders, nearly one-in-four monkeypox cases in America are in New York.
Sen. Gillibrand stated: “So far, New York State has been allotted 170,000 vaccine doses – but as we learned with COVID-19, a robust and credible vaccine distribution is crucial to fighting a public health crisis like this one. We can build on the lessons of COVID-19, and use the knowledge to act more decisively as we fight against this disease.”
