Nicki Minaj’s concert in Manchester, scheduled for Saturday night, was postponed after she was detained in the Netherlands due to marijuana being found in her luggage. The promoter, Live Nation, announced that the concert would be rescheduled and tickets would be honored. Minaj tweeted that she was stopped at the Amsterdam airport, where police discovered the marijuana and had to weigh it. Although cannabis is tolerated for recreational use in the Netherlands, it remains illegal. A spokesperson for the Netherlands military police confirmed that a 41-year-old American woman was fined and released for attempting to export “soft drugs.” Minaj, who is 41, suggested on Twitter that the incident was an attempt to delay her and generate negative publicity. Her concert in Manchester is part of her “Pink Friday 2” tour, which includes performances across Europe.
