One of my favorite NFL players has tested positive for COVID-19. Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller from the Denver Broncos is the first player on the team to test positive.
He released a statement with the Denver Broncos saying he has the virus and he decided to share publicly. So far he is the highest profile player in the NFL to publicly announce he tested positive for the coronavirus. Miller said he shared his diagnosis because he wants people to know anyone can get the virus.
Miller told NPR he “was shocked” when he found out he was positive. He said he was taking the virus seriously and had been staying home, he only went out about four times to get food but he didn’t leave his car.
He said he started coughing and when it worsened he after a couple days he went to get tested. Miller who is 31 years old also disclosed he has asthma.
The NFL Draft kicks off Thursday April 23rd and goes through Saturday April 25th. The NFL season starts in September and is still set to kick off at that time.
