NFL Rumors: Davante Adams Traded to Jets from Raiders

Davante Adams has been traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Jets, reuniting him with former Green Bay Packers teammate, quarterback Aaron Rodgers. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jets are sending a 2025 third-round draft pick to the Raiders, which could become a second-rounder depending on Adams’ performance. The Raiders will not cover any of Adams’ remaining salary in the deal. Adams, recovering from a hamstring injury, could make his Jets debut on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This move follows Adams’ request for a trade after the Raiders’ underwhelming start to the season. The Raiders’ financial concerns and Adams’ declining production over the past two seasons also factored into the decision. While the trade might not be well-received by Raiders fans, it aligns with the team’s long-term plans. For the Jets, Adams’ arrival adds star power to their receiving corps, though it may create challenges for the coaching staff in balancing playing time among their wide receivers.
