NFL Head Coach for the New Orleans Saints Sean Payton, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

Payton started feeling sick Sunday after attending a horse races event in Arkansas. His received his test results Thursday, becoming the first known person within the NFL to test positive for the virus.

The 56-year-old Super Bowl Winning Coach, joins 7 NBA players, one NHL player on the Senators and two Yankees minor-league players that have tested positive in the sports world.

Payton’s reason for going public? He said he wanted to encourage others to listen to health officials. Telling people to stay indoors. Now that’s what I call, leadership. Payton is just one of many people in the public eye, who have contracted the coronavirus. A number of Sports and Entertainment stars have been encouraging people to take this pandemic seriously.

If people won’t listen to CDC Doctors about a current pandemic. Hopefully, they’ll listen to a popular NFL coach.
