NFL And NBA Seasons Is It Really Worth It?

Written by on July 13, 2020

NFL Players are exempt from the New York State quarantine rule when traveling from states that are restricted. On top of that, NBA players are tested frequently for the coronavirus before, after, and during their time in Disney. There have been major steps taken to ensure players in sports are protected and tested. But, yet the country is running out of PPE for healthcare workers. Plus, we don’t even have the resources to test every person in the United States.

The country is in a major crisis with death tolls rising and Florida, again, with record-breaking numbers for positive COVID-19 tests. The state recorded 15,000 single day positive cases of coronavirus.

So, I guess what I’m getting at is should we really be worried about sports right now?

Fans can’t attend the games so what really is the point, at this point. We can’t even protect healthcare workers as we should they are the frontline we NEED them to survive. Sports are not a detriment to humanity’s survival.

To question why sports leagues are going to extreme measures to play is not wrong or right, we should question it. Especially, when rules and executive orders are being bent and even compromised to accommodate players and league employees.  That puts us all at risk whether they admit it or not there is no 100% guarantee the public or players will be protected from COVID-19.

Do we value money or lives?

I think America has lost focus on what our real true most valuable asset is – PEOPLE. Without people you have nothing. You can have all the money in the world but if you are the only one left on earth what does it matter? Who are you playing for?

Will you watch any of the NBA or NFL games?
