New Yorkers Will Get Max SNAP Benefits In August

Written by on August 13, 2020

SNAP benefit recipients in New York State that have not received the maximum amount of benefits will get them by the end of August.

The Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance will automatically issue emergency supplemental SNAP benefits. The reason for the emergency benefits is because of the pandemic. The benefits will go to households that have not or are not receiving the maximum amount allowed.

If your household has already received the maximum benefit allowed in July 2020 for their household size, are not eligible. Those households will not receive the extra supplemental SNAP benefit.

The supplemental SNAP benefits will be automatically sent to your EBT card. You do not have to apply or contact your local office. If you do call them they will not have any information.

It’s only a one-time payment.
