New York State provides new tool for businesses to confirm re-opening protocols

Written by on May 22, 2020

New York State posted a new tool this week called the “New York Forward Business Reopening Lookup Tool” to help business owners determine when they’re allowed to re-open during the pandemic and the new health standards they must follow to do so safely. A business owner only needs to visit here and click the “Get Started” button to use the tool.

The tool asks a series of questions with drop-down and text field selections. A business owner must select their location by county and then type the NAICS Code in the provided field or filter their business type by a main category and subcategories on a pop-up menu. When the information unique to a specific type of business loads, the page provides the user with downloading and printing options so they can share the information with employees and others.

The main New York Forward Business Reopening Lookup Tool page provides additional information: users can click a banner link at the top of the page to find regularly updated information about the progression of the novel coronavirus within the state. They can also use a “health metrics” embedded text link to visit a Regional Monitoring Dashboard to find out if a region has met the requirements for a specific re-opening phase and the exact requirement metric percentages by region.
