New York State Officially Bans Tobacco Products In Pharmacies

Written by on May 19, 2020

If you are a smoker you now have less places to purchase your cigarettes. As of Monday, tobacco products will no longer be sold at pharmacies.

So pharmacy stores like Walgreens and CVS are not selling tobacco products in New York State. The new law that went into effect Monday also bans the sale of flavored e-cigarettes at ALL stores. According to the American Lung Association 40% of high school seniors in New York State alone use e-cigarettes.

Studies show the flavors entice kids to start using e-cigarettes and the nicotine causes addiction to tobacco products.

Health advocates have said selling tobacco products in stores where people go to get healing products sends mixed messages.
