New York State Lawmakers Meet Monday To Address Free School Lunches

Monday at 11 am state lawmakers are meeting to call on Governor Kathy Hochul to support funding for free school lunches.
The meeting will address the expired free lunch waivers. During the pandemic school lunches were free to all students in New York and across the country. Now that everything is has resumed lunches are no longer free.
Families will have to apply for free or reduced price meals in school.
Lawmakers will be joined by anti-hunger advocates and students. The hope is Governor Kathy Hochul will add funding for free school lunch for all students in next years budget.
