New Theater Opens in Sibley Square

Written by on September 10, 2022

Yesterday, a new entertainment venue, the Focus Theater, held its grand opening. The new theater, located in Sibley Square, is a comedy theater and training center. The fully accessible venue includes a 92-seat theater, and a classroom, and is fully designed to accommodate artists and audiences of all backgrounds.

Keith Gomez, co-owner and co-artistic director, stated: “The Focus Theater is a place for Rochester to come and learn not only improv but stand-up and sketch comedy and also an opportunity to showcase local talent. The Sibley Building offered us a great location. It was kind of a joke; they were having trouble getting rid of a small back corner with no windows, and we didn’t want windows for our theater.”
