New Music: Childish Gambino “Awaken, My Love”

Today Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover has released his much-anticipated album ‘Awaken, My Love.’  Many of you may know him from his hit show Atlanta on FX. He will also be appearing in the new Star Wars movie as the young Lando Calrissian.

Now the versatile young creative brings us his third studio album. ‘Awaken, My Love’ definitely giving some Maggot Brain vibes. It’s funky. You can hear the Prince, Parliament, and Bootsy influences.

The psychedelic soul album is much different from anything I’ve heard recently. I’ve only listened to it once all the way through but so far my favorite tracks are Zombies, Redbone, California and Terrified. Here is the complete track list:
