According to a government fact sheet about the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine, a federal program is now in place that is trying to expedite the distribution process and get more American’s vaccinated.

The fact sheet describes twenty-one “national pharmacy partners and networks of independent pharmacies representing over 40,000 pharmacy locations nationwide” that are taking part in the new distribution program.

On February 11, 1 million doses will be sent out to over 6000 stores like Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, Publix pharmacies, and others.

Steven Anderson, president and CEO of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores gave a statement, saying:

“Based on conservative assumptions, pharmacies have the capacity to meet the demand for 100 million vaccine doses in one month when that level of the vaccine supply is available,”
