A new proposed bill in Oregon would give low-income people and homeless people 12 payments of $1,000 a month for a year.
People eligible for these monthly payments will have to meet the requirements of being homeless or at the risk of being severely homeless or earning below 60% area median income.
There was a similar program in western Canada that was successful.
