New Bill Passed To End Warehouse Productivity Quotas In New York State

A new bill has passed by lawmakers in New York that will affect warehouse productivity in the state. This will also affect the metrics used by Amazon which has come under fire lately for the treatment of its workers.
Labor and safety advocates have criticized Amazon for quotas that require workers in warehouses to work long hours. The new bill would make Amazon and similar businesses provide information to workers on the assigned quotas. The information would include details on what the employer could use to reprimand employees.
The bill also prohibits employers from placing quotas that do not allow bathroom breaks or periods of rest.
