NBA Legend Wes Unseld Passes Away at 74

On June 2, 2020 the NBA, along with many fans, friends and family members had to say goodbye to a great man.
According to a release from his family, Wes Unseld has passed away, losing a battle with health problems and most recently pneumonia.
Wes Unseld was a professional basketball player, coach and executive who spent his NBA career with the Washington Bullets. Drafted second overall in 1968, he was named NBA Most Valuable Player in his rookie season and went on to win a championship in 1978. He Retired in 1981 and worked with the Bullets as a vice president, general manager and head coach.
Unseld was credited with being one of the best defensive players of his era, and the bullets ended up retiring his jersey in 1981. in 1988 he was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and in 1995 the NBA named as one of the 50 Greatest Players of All Time.
His wife Connie opened the Unselds School, a private co-ed institution in southwest Baltimore that has a daycare, nursery school and K-8 program. His wife and daughter, Kimberly are teachers there. He worked as an office manager and head basketball coach.
He is remembered by his daughter Kim, son Wes, daughter in-law Evelyn, grandchildren Layla & Wes and his wife Connie.
