NBA Games Kicked Off Thursday Live From The Bubble

Written by on July 31, 2020

Thursday the NBA officially started the season playing in the bubble. I didn’t know the games were on I just so happened to scroll through my guide. The first game was Utah Jazz vs New Orleans Pelicans and the second was L.A. Lakers vs L.A. Clippers.

I watched a little bit of both games and it was for lack of a better word, weird.

When I turned the first game on I thought for about a minute I was watching an NBA 2K video game. They had a virtual crowd with virtual applause which again was weird.

You could go to the NBA app and tap to cheer. I didn’t look into how you could watch the game and be in the virtual crowd but it was interesting to see. The court was seemed so small because they are playing in smaller facilities. I’m happy the NBA is playing but at the same time, it’s a reminder of how serious COVID-19 is.

It will take some time to adjust to watching at least for me it will. What are your thoughts? Did you catch any of the games?
