This year, in an effort to increase voter turnout, registered voters will now be able to cast their ballots nine days earlier than normal.

The legislation was approved by Governor Cuomo earlier this year. From Saturday, October 26th until Sunday, November 3rd, the Monroe County Board of Elections will open seven polling locations, an effort they believe will make voting easier and more accessible for all. During this early voting period, voters will even be able to vote outside of their registered districts. However, if they cast their ballot on November 5th, they will have to do so in their registered district.

The Monroe County Board of Elections plans to adopt the same early voting practice for the 2020 Presedential election.
