In a virtual briefing to discuss the new COVID-19 Yellow Zone designation, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Public Health Commissioner Michael Mendoza said:
“It is clear we are experiencing community spread throughout Monroe County. It’s not targeted to one neighborhood or zip code, but it’s related to gatherings of people not in the same family, not wearing masks.”
This briefing was in response to a press conference given by Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday, during which he said that Monroe County meets the criteria to be determined a yellow zone micro cluster and therefore could be subject to restrictions.
“25 person max for gatherings, four people at a table for dining, schools get 25% testing, bars and restaurants close at midnight.”
The yellow zone restrictions don’t affect zip codes, but municipalities.
The impacted areas are:
- City of Rochester
- Irondequoit
- Greece
- Webster
- Penfield
- Perinton
- East Rochester
- Pittsford
- Brighton
- Henrietta
- Chili
- Gates
