Monroe County Back in High-Risk Zone for COVID-19

Written by on April 24, 2022

Yesterday, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that Monroe County, among other counties, has been put back into a high-risk zone for COVID transmission. Other counties joining Monroe is Livingston, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, and Yates.

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello stated: “In some ways, I’m not surprised. We’ve seen these high numbers, we’ve been talking about them for days and weeks and frankly, our numbers are probably higher than what we know because of the prevalence of rapid tests…We encourage people to report their at-home tests to the health department so we have a better sense of what the numbers are, but this isn’t surprising in any way. We’ve been talking about this for days and weeks.”
